PhD Colloquium
The two-day doctoral colloquium takes place twice per semester. Doctoral candidates present their ongoing research and exchange experiences. Discussions address the methodological, thematic and practical aspects of doctorates.
The PhD Colloquium is open to everyone. Vicky Kiefer is responsible for organising the colloquium and managing the mailing list for all matters relating to doctorate. If you would like to receive the programme regularly, please get in touch here.
Networking Platform for Doctoral Students
The digital “PhD Community” platform provides useful links, tips and resources for our doctoral candidates as well as a space to share resources and calls for proposals. This internal, peer-to-peer tool is intended to foster networking and exchange, and can be co-designed by the candidates themselves.
Courses and Infrastructure
The HSLU’s Centre for Learning, Teaching and Research (ZLLF) offers continuing education courses to build research skills. What is more, doctoral candidates employed by the HSLU may undertake further training in areas relevant to their fields of expertise.
The libraries provide specialist literature and databases and offer advice for doctoral candidates. This includes introductions to literature search and reference management as well as offering support around open access and research data management.
Doctoral candidates also have access to the school's varied infrastructure including workshops, labs and studios.
