Leadership Development and Coaching Developing one's personal leadership style

In times of change, developing a leadership style is more important than ever. Senior managers face ever-increasing competition, pace of change and ambiguity. This makes their position particularly demanding today: they need subject-specific skills and knowledge and assertiveness, but also social skills, flexibility, an innovative spirit, resilience and stress tolerance, to name just a few of the traits listed in job specifications.

Young people in leadership positions are expected to grow into their role quickly. They start as subject specialists and want to become leaders with the skills to manage both themselves and their teams. In this evolution, the situational use of leadership tools is as important as confident decision-making.
Seasoned senior managers are all about the skilful management of the relationship dynamics within their companies. Their ability to communicate with peers and subordinates in every position and at every level, to solve conflicts confidently, to convince and influence, is key. What is more, they must not lose sight of strategic issues in their day-to-day business.

more

HR departments and superiors often have limited resources when it comes to providing support. The higher his or her rank, the more the manager is expected to be self-reliant in these matters. They often lack the opportunity for exchange with an independent interlocutor.

Our various continuing and executive education programmes provide this opportunity. Senior managers also have the chance to explore their existing skills and how to use them more effectively, and to prepare for upcoming tasks and issues by acquiring the necessary tools. This learning process is supported by personal coaching sessions and a case-related exchange with lecturers and fellow participants.
