Admission requirements for the bachelor's degree
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Admission to the German-taught degree programme requires English skills as acquired for a commercial vocational baccalaureate (level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Admission to the English-taught version of the programme requires proven evidence of English skills at level C1 or higher (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Vocational baccalaureate with an orientation in economics/services in combination with a commercial or media technology apprenticeship
Vocational baccalaureate with an orientation in economics/services gained outside the context of a commercial apprenticeship in combination with at least one year of relevant professional commercial experience (basis: full-time)
Other vocational or academic baccalaureate in combination with at least one year of relevant professional commercial experience (basis: full-time)
Other equivalent training in combination with at least one year of relevant commercial professional experience (basis: full-time)
Bachelor of Science in Business Psychology
Admission to the degree programme requires English skills as acquired in a vocational baccalaureate (level B1 or higher of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

In addition to the admission requirements specified above, candidates wishing to apply for a place in the Bachelor of Science in Business Psychology programme must take and pass a psychological aptitude test.
Bachelor of Science in Mobility, Date Science and Economics
Admission to the degree programme is contingent on English skills as acquired in a vocational baccalaureate (level B1 or higher of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Vocational baccalaureate (any orientation) in combination with a Federal VET Diploma
Vocational baccalaureate (any orientation) without Federal VET Diploma
plus one year or more of qualified professional practice in a relevant field (basis: full-time)

Admission requirements for the master's degree
Formal admission requirements for ALL Master's degree programmes:
- Bachelor's degree equating to 180 ECTS credits or equivalent university/tertiary level degree
- Ability to follow tuition in English (and German) at tertiary level—English C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- High level of motivation and readiness to work hard
Candidates who have not yet completed their Bachelor's degree at the time of applying may enter the admission process on a provisional basis and submit the missing certificates at the beginning of their chosen programme.
Candidates are required to take an aptitude assessment on the basis of the application dossier as part of the admission procedure.
Master of Science in Applied Information and Data Science:
Good results in the self-assessment test and demonstrated command of English at the required level (C1 of the the European Framework of Reference for Languages; B2-level applicants are admitted conditionally).
Master of Science in Banking and Finance:
Specialisation in Banking and Finance (equating to at least 24 ECTS credits) as part of a Bachelor's degree; the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts offers online courses to earn missing ECTS (must be completed during the first year of study).
Master of Science in Business Psychology
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Foreign students: Proof of admission to a Master's programme in Psychology in the country of the Bachelor's degree.
120 ECTS in the different fields of psychology, proven in the Transcript of Records of the Bachelor's degree.
Demonstrated command of German and English at the required level (C1 of the the European Framework of Reference for Languages; B2-level applicants are admitted conditionally).
Persons who have been excluded from studying psychology may not be admitted to the Master of Science in Business Psychology at the Lucerne School of Business.
Master of Science in International Financial Management:
Bachelor's degree with at least 27 ECTS credits earned in financial management modules.
Master of Science in Real Estate:
Bachelor's degree with at least 24 ECTS credits earned in real estate, finance or banking modules.
Recognition of prior learning
At the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, academic achievements or professional activities may be recognised and credited upon request, provided they are deemed equivalent. Related requests must be directed to the head of the degree programme.
Fees
The application fee will be paid directly with the registration. There will be no refund if you cancel your application or if you are not admitted into the programme.
You may pay your application fee using a PostFinance Card (debit card), TWINT, a credit card (Mastercard or VISA) and PostFinance Mastercard® Value. Once the payment goes through, PostFinance will send you a confirmation of payment via email. If you pay by credit card on the website via payment service providers PostFinance or SIX, your surname, first name, address, post code, city, email address and credit card information will be forwarded to both your credit card issuer and credit card acquirer. If you decide to pay by credit card, you will be prompted to enter all the information required for the transaction.
The transfer and sharing of your personal data takes place in accordance with the provisions of the Swiss data protection legislation or the EU GDPR. If the EU GDPR applies, the legal basis is the fulfilment of a contract (art. 6, para 1, lit b of the EU GDPR). To learn more about the handling of your credit card information by these third parties, we advise you to also consult the terms and conditions and privacy policy of your credit card issuer.
Tuition fees are invoiced from the beginning of the respective semester. If you deregister after the start of the semester, the semester fee is still due (also without attending classes).
Copyright and inventions
Art. 34 Copyright and inventions
1 Students grant the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts the right to use and exploit their copyright-protected works and inventions developed during their studies. This includes the free and unlimited right in terms of time and space to publish or copy the copyright-protected works or inventions, as well as any related trademarks, or to use and exploit them in any other manner.
2 The moral rights of the author and the student's right to continue to personally use and exploit the copyright-protected works, inventions or trademarks remain guaranteed. Art. 35 forms an exception.
Art. 35 Audiovisual works
Students assign all rights to use and exploit audiovisual works to the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts as producer for its exclusive use, together with the right to use and exploit these works free of charge and without any restrictions in terms of time and place. The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts may transfer these rights to third parties or return them to the student.
Art. 36 Intended use
1 The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts generally uses the rights transferred to it for study-related purposes. These include, in particular, archiving, documentation, information, cataloguing in the library or media library, advertising and public relations activities. The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is also entitled to grant or transfer rights to copyright-protected works of students, the related patent rights and inventions to third parties as part of a cooperation programme, in particular regarding thesis or project work by students, in the fields of applied research and development as well as services.
2 After informing the student, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts may record presentations, and performances or screenings of a work on audio, video and data storage systems. The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts may publish such recordings on the internet (live stream, podcast).
Art. 37 Compensation
1 If the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts earns a financial profit on the commercial use of copyright-protected works, and the related patent rights or inventions, it is obliged to agree suitable compensation with the student.
2 A financial profit is earned if the net revenue exceeds the total unsubsidised costs incurred by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (e.g. production costs).
Digital teaching activities
Copyright and personal rights as well as the right to one’s own image also apply to online teaching activities. Written material, videos and other teaching materials made available on ILIAS and in web meetings must not be shared with third parties. The recording of web meetings requires the prior express consent of all parties involved.
Health and accident insurance / pension provisions
Health and accident insurance coverage is a mandatory legal requirement in Switzerland. Students are responsible for making their own social security benefit arrangements, in particular by taking out insurance, ensuring there are no gaps in their coverage, etc.
AHV (old-age and survivors' insurance)
The personal details of all students aged 18 and above are automatically forwarded to Lucerne's cantonal compensation fund. This agency is in charge of collecting AHV insurance contributions. The Lucerne School of Business would like to point out that students are responsible for the payment of their own benefit contributions. Missed payments for as little as a year may result in substantially reduced pension payments (which could have serious consequences in the event of disability). Please visit www.ahv.ch for details.
Theft insurance (property insurance – electronic equipment)
Insurance cover taken out by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and its Schools does not cover damage to or theft of electronic equipment (e.g. computers, cameras, storage media and similar) belonging to its students. Students are responsible for obtaining the relevant insurance coverage themselves
Third-party liability insurance
Students undertakes to comply with the internal order, health and safety regulations at the Lucerne School of Business. Students are responsible for taking out third-party liability insurance for themselves. The Lucerne School of Business accepts no liability.
Data privacy protection rules
1. Use of personal details
§1 The Lucerne School of Business complies with the applicable data protection laws in handling students' personal details.
§2 With their binding application, students consent to the Lucerne School of Business processing and/or linking their personal details (e.g. first name, last name, matriculation number, ECTS credits, degree programme, etc.) and photographs for the purposes of planning, organisation, evaluation, financing, statistics, information, continuing education advice, internal learning platforms and grading during and after the degree programmes. This includes forwarding the necessary information to the Swiss Federal Statistical Office and State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation, to the Intercantonal Agreement Cantons or the Swiss Confederation, as well as to the Central Compensation Office (CENT).
§3 With their binding application, students also consent to their personal details (last name, first name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, specialisation, start of studies, final year, School) being forwarded to the "Alumni Hochschule Luzern, Verein der Absolventinnen und Absolventen der Fachhochschule Zentralschweiz" (Alumni Association of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts) to initiate free membership of the association lasting until one year after the bachelor's or master's degree programme has been completed. Students who prefer for their details not to be passed on to the Alumni Association for the purpose of initiating the membership, may notify the office of the Alumni Association of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts by email (info@alumnihslu.ch).
2. Services provided by third parties
By using third-party services, e.g. Mobility car sharing, University Sports, etc., students consent to the Lucerne School of Business processing their details for the purpose of administering these services.
The relevant information is forwarded to third parties only if expressly shared by the students and for the purpose of registration only. However, the possibility of external parties intercepting the transmission of personal data cannot be ruled out.
Legal/statutory principles
The degree programme is subject to whichever regulations are in force at the start of a given degree programme. The School explicitly reserves the right to amend and/or extend existing regulations and introduce new regulations during the course of the studies.
These apply to all students as they come into effect. The regulations may be read online at any time or obtained by contacting the programmes office of the Lucerne School of Business.
