Overview
The aim of this preliminary project is to lay the groundwork for a qualitative research project in Switzerland and Austria. The focus lies on dialogue, negotiation, and social learning processes in the adaptation of alpine communities to climate change. The project includes a systematic literature review, expert interviews with key stakeholders, stakeholder and context analyses, and the development of project partnerships. Based on these activities, the regions to be studied will be selected, the research questions and methodological framework refined, and a third-party funding proposal prepared. The planned main project will investigate, in the selected municipalities, how local actors strengthen their resilience and develop transformative adaptation strategies through negotiation and collective learning processes. The project also aims to generate practice-oriented knowledge for public authorities, professionals, and civil society.
