Solidarity with Ukraine

The Lucerne School of Applied Sciences and Arts is watching the events unfolding in Ukraine and the flight of hundreds of thousands of civilians with great concern. The HSLU is committed to supporting members of Ukrainian universities in this difficult situation, and to making sure that students can continue their education and that lecturers and researchers can continue their work.

Financial and organisational support
The Federal Council has decided to grant the S permit to refugees from Ukraine. This entails the right to work and study in Switzerland. Researchers and students from Ukraine can find information about the HSLU’s support measures on this Website.

Points of contact for the Cantons of Lucerne and Zug
The Cantons of Lucerne and Zug have established points of contact for refugee accommodation and support, to respond to queries and to channel and coordinate notifications and offers from the population. People wishing to provide private accommodation for refugees may contact them as well.

Information from the State Secretariat for Migration
Information about entering, registration, and staying in the country is available in German and Ukrainian on the website of the  State Secretariat for Migration.

German Language Courses
The German language courses for non-native speakers and other language programmes offered by the HSLU Language Centre are open to refugees as part of their studies or employment at HSLU.

A free online course for German-Ukrainian can be found here: jicki.de/deutsch-ukrainisch
