We are delighted that you are seeking to enrol on continuing education programme at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The following information on the application process should help.
Log in with SWITCH edu-ID
You need a SWITCH edu-ID to be able to start the application process.
The SWITCH edu-ID is the long-lasting digital identity used to access services associated with Swiss university level institutions.
If you do not have a SWITCH edu-ID, you can register for one in three simple steps during the application process. Please note that this requires a personal email address (a personal email address is an email address that is not used by multiple people).
- Enter your first and last name, email address and password.
- After you have accepted the terms and conditions, a user account is created. A link will then be sent to you by email.
- To activate your account, click on the link in the email.
Applications are only possible online.
The process can be interrupted at any time and resumed later without loss of data.
Fields marked with an * are required. You will be notified if you have missed any required fields.
Please make sure to complete your registration within 30 days – any tentative data you have entered will be deleted after this point.
Please study the final provisions before submitting your definitive application. You will not be able to change your information after selecting "Definitive application".
A secure connection featuring SSL encryption is automatically invoked when the input forms are used. Information communicated to us by email, on the other hand, is transmitted unencrypted. It may be viewed and modified by third parties. The transmission of confidential or personal information by email is at the sender's risk.
The programme you are applying for will determine which of the following information and documents are required:
Swiss matriculation number
Persons enrolling at Swiss university level institution for the first time are issued with a personal matriculation number. This eight-digit number (e.g. 15-458-791) is stated on a yellow label affixed to the original university admission qualifying certificate.
Swiss social security number
If you live or work in Switzerland, you will find your Swiss social security number (756 ... ) on your AHV pension card or health insurance card.
Personal photo (jpeg format)
To be able to create your HSLU-Card, we will need a sharp, high-contrast passport-quality picture in which your face is clearly visible. No other people or items must appear in the photo.
The following information must be submitted, backed by the relevant references, diplomas and certificates:
- Copy of highest educational certificate obtained
- Topic proposal for Master’s thesis
Various documents will need to be submitted during the application process. These must be in PDF format and uploaded online. Individual PDF files constituting a multi-page document may be uploaded one after the other. The system will automatically merge these individual PDFs into a single document. Please note: deleting one of these individual files will result in the deletion of the entire merged document.
Generating PDF documents
Use a scanner to digitise paper documents and save them as PDF files. Most printers with a scanner function are capable of exporting PDF files.
Open digital documents (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and "save as" .pdf.
Once you have submitted your definitive application, we will examine your dossier and contact you by email or telephone.
