Scholarships and Prizes Financial support for international students

Exchange students from EU-partner universities with a signed SEMP- and/or ERASMUS-agreement are usually eligible for a Swiss European Mobility grant, in lieu of an Erasmus grant. Exchange students from non-EU partner universities should contact the relevant office at their home university regarding scholarship opportunities for exchange semesters abroad.

International degree seeking students are responsible for financing their studies themselves. Swiss cantonal scholarships and/or student loans and most other national programs are aimed at Swiss students. For further information please visit our German webpage.

International degree seeking students are advised to inquire about programs, scholarships, or support opportunities in their home country or at the respective consulate.

Information about the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts’ scholarships and prizes are listed on the right-hand side of this page. For further information please contact the respective school directly.

EDUCA Swiss offers valuable advice on how to finance your studies with a loan and the web tool can be used to calculate personal financial planning:

educaswiss.ch
educaplan.ch (webtool for financial planning, only in German)

In addition, some foundations and trusts in Switzerland offer scholarships to support international students. Please contact them directly to receive information regarding eligibility (for further information please visit our German webpage, where you will find a list of foundations). Notable mentions:

Hirschmann Grant

A Hirschmann grant provides financial support to students who show above-average performance in their bachelor’s degree and are completing a consecutive master’s degree at a Swiss University of Applied Sciences.
