The module provides insights into German life, culture and politics and also topics about life as a student.
This course is aimed at students for whom German is not their first language - beginners. The module produces marked improvements in students command of the language. It requires serious motivation. Students successfully completing the module are capable of understanding and using everyday expressions and simple sentences. Students can make themselves understood if the person they are talking to speaks slowly and clearly and helps them.

Written exam. The exam takes place on 23 September 2023, 08:30 am. Active participation with regular attendance in class is expected. Non attendance of the assessed assignment will result in the award of a “1” grade.
Eligibility is extended to all students enrolled in the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Provided places are available, admission is also open to staff and external persons (fee required).
No particular requirements.
A1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages CEFR.
