Thanks to its forward-looking programme designs, the Lucerne School of Social Work has an excellent reputation. Through its teaching, its research and development activities and its services, the School supports the development of the social services sector and the professionalisation of social work while simultaneously contributing to the advancement of nursing.

Degree Programmes

The HSLU offers practice-oriented bachelor's programmes in Social Work with specialisations in Social Work, Sociocultural Animation and Social Pedagogy. Using innovative approaches, it prepares students for a career in the sector or for a consecutive master's degree. At the same time, the School’s bachelor's and master's programmes in Nursing make a significant contribution to training a highly skilled workforce and thus strengthening Central Switzerland’s health and social care system.

Continuing and Executive Education

Continuing education at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Social Work supports social work professionals in their demanding everyday practice and gives them the opportunity to reflect on and further develop their work. In the spirit of lifelong learning, the various continuing education programs impart knowledge that can be applied in practice. The individual professional skills of the participants are recognized, trained, and further developed.

Research

In its research activities, the Lucerne School of Social Work follows a dual approach to addressing current societal challenges. By doing so, it contributes to the further development of social services, organisational processes, and social participation.
