Elective Groove and Electronics Combining digital-technical expertise with musical practice

This specialisation focuses on groove-based music. Students learn to combine specialist skills and knowledge around technical and digital tools with musical practice in complementary one-to-one lessons and dedicated workshops. With the necessary expertise in recording and producing, they can enhance instrumental and vocal performances with electro-acoustic elements, produce backing tracks and programme personalised tools with creative coding.

What to expect

The following aspects are at the centre of the programme:

  • Recording and producing skills (recording and live set-ups, beat programming, sampling, etc.)
  • Groove styles, timing, micro-timing, click tracks
  • Musical director skills
  • Sound synthesis and sound processing
  • User interaction (controller, MIDI, time synchronisation, human-computer interaction)
