Unable to pick up your loan at a certain location? Your options include ordering it to a different HSLU or ZHB location through the Central Switzerland Courier service (free of charge) or having it sent to you by mail (charges apply).

Central Switzerland Courier
The Central Switzerland Courier connects all the participating libraries. This means that items can be ordered to various pick-up locations. The delivery time is approximately two working days. A collection notification will be sent to you by email as soon as the items are ready for pick-up. The Central Switzerland Courier is a free-of-charge service. SLSP courier
Library users can request SLSP courier items to be delivered to all ZHB locations and HSLU libraries through the swisscovery research gateway. The delivery time is between two and four working days. A collection notification is sent out as soon as the requested items arrive at the chosen pick-up location. They are available for pick-up at the relevant information desk for a week. 
The cost for the SLSP courier is CHF 6 per item.

Mail delivery 
When requesting an item, you can select “mail delivery” as the pick-up option instead of a library. Please note that we charge CHF 12 per item for mail delivery. 

Interlibrary loan
If you need items or documents from a non-SLSP library, you can opt for an interlibrary loan. It is a service offered by the Central and University Library at Sempacherstrasse. Learn more about it on the Lucerne ZHB website.

Digitalization request
You can request scans of a medium by selecting “digitalization” instead of “borrow”.  Please note that we are unable to digitalize entire works for you for legal reasons. It is therefore important that you specify which part of the work you require (e.g., an article, chapter, page number, etc.).

Fees for non-commercial requests
Per article or chapter:  CHF 5
You can request up to 50 pages per order.  Larger requests will be denied. 

Fees for commercial requests
Per article or chapter: CHF 25
