Building Technology Testing Laboratory

The Building Technology Testing Laboratory is the EN ISO/IEC 17025-certified part of the Building Technology Laboratory (accreditation number STS 0179). It offers thermal, fluidic and acoustic measurements for components and systems in the field of building technology, as well as related applications.

Materials Testing Laboratory STS 209

The certified Building Materials and Component Testing Laboratory (accreditation number STS 209) offers glass, facade, window and door system testing services. The facilities also allow for special testing of building products and entire building components.

Facade test rig

The facade test rig is used to conduct investigations of facades and windows of all types. These tests are carried out to the client’s specifications or according to applicable European and international product standards. The test rig is one of Europe’s largest.

BACnet Testing Laboratory

As an independent laboratory, the testing facility at the iHomeLab examines various profiles, from the simple BACnet sensor to the BACnet building controller and the BACnet workstation. The laboratory offers clients a prompt and expert service when it comes to order fulfilment.

Minergie® Module Room Comfort Testing Laboratory

The MINERGIE® Module Testing Laboratory at the iHomeLab runs Minergie Room Comfort Module tests on behalf of the GNI Building Network Initiative. It checks whether systems meet the MINERGIE module requirements and certifies products according to recognised standards.

Luci computed tomography scanner

The Luci computed tomography (CT) scanner provides non-invasive cross-sectional imaging of objects. It does this by taking numerous X-ray images as the scanner rotates about a fixed axis. The sectional images provide information about the material and its density.

Building envelope and civil engineering infrastructure

Several test halls with strong floors, a facade test stand and an optical laboratory are part of the equipment of the Competence Center for Building Envelopes and Civil Engineering, as are geotechnical, concrete and hydraulic laboratories. Furthermore, there are stationary and mobile testing facilities for glass and facade testing.
