Graduate profile

Graduates have the necessary skills to create digital twins based on methods and tools of interdisciplinary digital process and construction design such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Parametric Modeling, Internet of Things (IoT), or Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR). In compliance with cyber security standards, they secure the data flow and communication in complex construction planning processes across disciplines and planning stages. There are many related fields of activity in all branches of the construction industry.

  • Complex construction planning processes in compliance with cyber security standards across disciplines and planning stages
  • Adequately incorporating and implementing the issues of sustainability, energy and business in construction planning and realization processes
  • Assessing and integrating international trends and developments in the topic areas of digital planning and construction processes and smart cities
  • Reflecting and aligning one’s attitude and actions through a robust foundation of meta skills
  • Systematically planning, managing or participating in projects and documenting and communicating the project results in a comprehensible and secure fashion
Admission

Candidates are required to have a vocational baccalaureate with a technical or design specialization (Germany: university of applied sciences entrance qualification) with recognized relevant vocational training (PDF only in German) or an academic baccalaureate with work experience. Candidates with a relevant diploma from a college of higher education will also be granted admission. Candidates with diplomas from colleges of higher education may apply for the recognition of individual modules with the head of program.

There is also the possibility to be admitted to the Bachelor of Science Digital Construction (DCS) through the pre-admission course (only in German). However, this path to admission is not applicable for the BA in Digital Construction (DCA). 

If German is not the native language: German language skills of level C1 (passed) are required for admission to the Bachelor's program.

 
Application deadline

For organizational and administrative reasons, we recommend you sign up for the program at least four months before the commencement of studies. Later registrations are possible as well.

Commencement of studies

Start of the fall semester in September Start of the spring semester in February—starting in the spring semester typically adds one semester to the duration of study (seven instead of six full-time semesters).
