From Architecture to Building Technology to Energy, Innovation and Technology Management, the collaboration among the nine Institutes offers ideal conditions for interdisciplinary learning, research and development on the solution-centered path into the future.

Building and Construction

Committed to the principle of the “Building as a System”, the four Institutes focus on the disciplines that are Architecture, Interior Architecture, Civil Engineering as well as Building Technology and Energy without ever losing sight of the bigger picture. Their focus not only lies on the building as a structure, but extends to entire plants and facilities, sites, districts, cities and regions as living environments. A thriving present and future in mind, the School’s teachers and researchers consider the energy, social, commercial and green-tech aspects of sustainability to be an integral part of their work.

Engineering and Technology

Amid the ongoing transition towards decentralization and decarbonization, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Energy Technology, Innovation and Technology Management, and Medical Engineering are disciplines of increasing importance. The four Institutes believe that mastering the path toward a sufficient society and the related challenges requires a communal effort. Interdisciplinarity is therefore a key factor in their development of innovative solutions for the present and the future.
