Process and Product Development From the as-is analysis to experiments in the laboratory

The development of energy-efficient products, such as for household use, is a necessary measure to reduce global energy consumption. Together with partners and clients, the Competence Center develops new, more energy-efficient processes and products based on simulations and experimental investigations.

As-Is Analysis Pro-cess/Product/Market

As a first step, the actual state of an existing clients’ product or process or of other products on the market is determined theoretically or experimentally in the laboratory. This forms the basis for future optimized product developments.

Process and Systems Simulation

Whether dishwashers, tumble dryers or other products: in most cases, the Competence Center can model the processes of partners' and clients' products in simulations. Theoretical studies can then be used to derive relevant findings for new product developments in a time- and cost-efficient manner.

Experimental Study in the Laboratory

With its extensive laboratory infrastructure and measurement equipment, the Competence Center can experimentally investigate a wide variety of systems by making small adjustments and thus demonstrate, for example, efficiency improvements in the systems of its partners and clients.
