Process Integration and Pinch Analysis From field measurements to optimiza-tion measures

A large proportion of the energy required by industrial processes is often attributable to thermal energies. Through energy and pinch analyses, the Competence Center identifies the energy and costs savings potential of industrial clients and develops measures to increase efficiency.

Anlage

As-is Analysis with Field Measurements

In an as-is analysis, the relevant material and energy flows of the client's production and/or infrastructure plant are determined theoretically and with the help of field measurements. These data are necessary for the pinch analysis, but can also be of interest for various other reasons.

Zwei Mitarbeitende

Pinch Analysis with PinCH Software

Before starting a pinch analysis, the process conditions are questioned. Subsequently, the requirements for the process are derived. In some cases, this already results in process optimizations. With the help of the PinCH software developed in-house, the economically achievable potential for increasing efficiency is determined.

Eine Schema

Development of Measures to Increase Efficiency

Among other things, various measures for energy optimization of the system can be derived from the pinch analysis. For these measures, the Competence Center develops the rough design for its clients and evaluates them from a technical and economic point of view, e.g. feasibility, reduction of energy demand or investment and operating costs.
