The Competence Center for Building Envelopes and Civil Engineering develops, inspects, tests, measures and advises in the areas of building envelopes, construction and supporting structures, geotechnics and natural hazards.

Accredited testing

The STS 0209 Building Envelopes and Civil Engineering Testing laboratory is accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025. It contains the infrastructure for testing of building materials and building components made of reinforced and prestressed concrete, glass and facade, window and doorsystems.

Consultancy and expert opinions

The Competence Center for Building Envelopes and Civil Engineering offers independent and professional component consultancy services as well as  expert opinions for damage assessment and around specific questions in the field of building envelopes and civil engineering.

Computer-aided calculations

Using the latest tools in the field of structural analysis, the Center`s experts are able to simulate all physical processes on structural components with the aid of state-of-the-art hardware and software.

The measurement and monitoring of material properties and behaviors provides certainty as well as new insights, which are then used to optimize and improve the evaluated systems.

Increasing requirements for efficiency and sustainability determine the design of new structures and the preservation of existing buildings. Aiming to produce improved designs and structures, the responsible use of resources and energy therefore at the center of our research and developement projects.
