Our expertise for a more sustainable world

The topic of energy in education and research Solutions for the future

The secure and cost-effective supply of energy in Switzerland is very close to our hearts - just like it is to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy. Our experts in the areas of training, continuing education and research work every day to support the federal government's 2025 Energy Strategy in all areas of performance and make valuable contributions here.

In the area of education and training, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is committed to combating the current shortage of skilled workers and training the next generation of energy professionals with in-depth technical expertise. In the area of research and development, our experts work together with their cooperation partners on pioneering energy solutions for a more sustainable world.

Degree Programs

Solarpanels

Offers in the area of Degree Programs

In the four Bachelor's degree programs Energy and Environmental Engineering, Building Services | Energy, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering, we train future specialists in the energy sector. There is also an option to further consolidate one's skills and knowledge in the consecutive MSc in Engineering program.

Continuing and Executive Education

Offers in the area of Continuing and Executive Education Programs

There is enormous energy-saving potential in the construction and operation of our buildings - competent specialists are more in demand than ever. Our continuing education programs enable experts in the production, distribution or loss minimization of energy in buildings.

Research

Researchers in the building technology and electric engineering lab

Our commitment to Research & Development

On the way to net zero and beyond, our experts in research and development support their clients from business and industry skilfully and with passion. They ensure that innovative ideas can be developed into marketable technical solutions on a solid scientific basis.

Knowledge transfer

The experts of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts share their profound know-how and the latest scientific findings with an interested public on an ongoing basis and regularly invite them to larger and smaller events where dialogue as well as the cultivation of relationships and networks play an important role.

Abend der Wirtschaft

Abend der Wirtschaft

The "Abend der Wirtschaft" is a fixed program item in the School's annual schedule. At this event, experts from the School meet with representatives from business, industry, politics and society to facilitate a practical exchange and transfer of knowledge (German only).

Forschungskonferenz

Forschungskonferenz

Verkehrshaus

Swiss Museum of Transport

Energy also plays a central role at the Swiss Museum of Transport. This is demonstrated by the special exhibition “Experience Energy!”, which opened in April 2023 in the House of Energy and invites visitors to reflect on the topic. With its scientific expertise, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts supported the museum from the initial idea through to the opening and is represented on site with two pioneering exhibits. Beyond that, the university also uses the Swiss Museum of Transport as a meeting place for targeted knowledge transfer.
