About us Engineering and Architecture – where people and ideas meet!

The activities of the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture are organized into three areas covering its educational mandate. The School's focuses include research and development, as well as its two research meta-themes "Building as a System" and "Energy for the future".

Welcome from the Dean

Where people and ideas meet. The Dean of the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture is Viktor Sigrist. He heads the senior management of the school, which consists of the Head of Bachelor and Master, the Head of Research and the Head of Continuing Education.

Organization

The activities of the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture are organized into three areas covering its educational mandate. The School's focuses include research and development, as well as its two research meta-themes "Building as a System" and "Energy for the future".

Institutes

The campus in Horw combines the two disciplines construction and engineering from the Institutes of Architecture to Innovation and Technology Management.

Competence centers

The competence centers at the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture are leading research institutions for applied research and services. Thematically, we cover a diverse range of disciplines, including Architecture, Interior Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Business Engineering.

Studying abroad

With degree programs in English and a wide choice of subject-specific modules offered in English, the campus is a living example of internationalization. Many agreements are in place with renowned international universities for exchange semesters.

Student discounts

A course of study at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts fills gaps in knowledge, but it also eases the strain on the wallet. That's because students benefit from a range of discounts and other offers.

Courses for teenagers interested in math, information technology, engineering and sciences.

Support for start-ups

The “Smart-up” project providing support for start-ups is run on a joint basis by the School and the Lucerne School of Business. Smart-up aims to encourage students to realize their business ideas and establish their own start-up. Smart-up helps entrepreneurial students and research associates as they pursue their path to independence. It runs courses that prepare nascent entrepreneurs for the world of business.

Events

The Lucerne School of of Engineering and Architecture offers a year-round programme of information events, symposia and conferences on a range of themes that are of topical relevance.

Visitors to the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture can avail themselves of a range of services for their convenience.

Diversity

The specialist Unit for diversity is responsible for tackling issues surrounding diversity, equal opportunities and mutual respect. It implements the diversity policies, coordinates projects and events and provides a range of services.

Facts and figures

The Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture offers education and training, research and employment and provides a valuable stimulus to the local Central Swiss economy.
