In the project, the theories behind the designs of great architects – e.g. Diller Scofidio + Renfro – were analysed, transferred to a design for digital space and made experienceable in virtual reality. Much of Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s work challenges our preconceptions of space and its possibilities, often combining the digital with the analogue. Inspired by their website (from the early 2000s) and its forward thinking approach to digitality, n(n+1) seeks to replicate how they might have approached a similar concept in Virtual Reality. Alluding to their continued work with museums, galleries and other places of learning, this space hopes to leave its visitors with a greater understanding of some of DS+R’s leading architectural and conceptual works, reminding us of the universality of influence and the infinity of ideas which can guide our design thinking into the future.
