Co-determination Committee candidates wanted
A university thrives on its staff, and we at the Design Film Art Participation Committee – MITKOM for short – would like to warmly invite you to play an active role in shaping our department. We would therefore be delighted if you were to get involved with MITKOM!
When we last amended our organisational regulations, we decided to encourage this participation and to hold a public election process for MITKOM membership in future.
Eligibility criteria:
- Those eligible for election are individuals who are in an ongoing employment relationship with the university.
- MITKOM members are elected for a two-year term; after this period, they usually stand for re-election or vacate their seat. In either case, staff members may then submit applications, and the composition of MITKOM is determined by a public vote.
- If no applications are received, no election will be held and MITKOM will remain in office in its current composition to ensure the continuity and functionality of the participation process.
MITKOM consists of five members from the various staff categories at DFK and is intended to reflect and represent the department’s various areas of work as effectively as possible.
- Work on MITKOM is remunerated at a rate of 30 hours per school year.
More detailed descriptions of MITKOM’s areas of responsibility and the organisational regulations can be found on the intranet.
As the diversity of members, in terms of role and gender, is a key factor for a participation committee, staff members may only apply for one seat in the election that corresponds to their role at DFK (e.g. ‘lecturers’ or ‘mid-level academic staff’).
Regarding the election procedure:
The application window is open from now until 12:00 on 30 June 2027. Applications are very welcome and should be submitted via the MITKOM email address at Design Film Kunst: mitkom.dfk@hslu.ch
Format:
An informal application or expression of interest for one of the categories, stating your role at HSLU, is sufficient.
The following positions are open for application:
- 1 position in the ‘Lecturers’ category
- 1 position in the ‘Lecturers’ category
- 1 position in the ‘Administrative and technical staff’ category
- 1 position in the ‘Administrative and technical staff’ category
The new candidates, as well as the current MITKOM members standing for re-election, will be put forward for a staff vote via an online ballot in July. Once the results have been tallied, the candidates will be notified and the new composition of the MITKOM Design Film Art will then be presented at the staff meeting in September.
