Sustainable Investments

Among other things, the Institute of Financial Services Zug IFZ of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts focuses on sustainable investments in its research activities and in its continuing and executive education programmes. Since 2017, the IFZ has been publishing its annual Sustainable Investments Study. The study analyses the market for sustainable mutual funds and discusses a range of related topics.

Fund Manager Selection using Machine Learning

The ex-ante identification of outperforming mutual funds, measured by a positive risk-adjusted return (alpha), is a very challenging task. Based on a large data set of fund characteristics we apply machine learning methods to predict future fund performance.
