How it works

The SAS specialisation consists of 150 hours of SAS learning material and includes

• a live online SAS Students School (3 days) on topics such as Analytics Trends, AI and Analytics Trends, the Analytics Life Cycle, onboarding to SAS Skillbuilder and SAS Viya for Learners, turning data into value, and a hands-on use case
• an interactive Visual Analytics e-learning module, including its certification as a Visual Business Analyst (2 e-learning and 1 online certification)
• an interactive Visual Modelling e-learning module, including its certification as a Visual Modelling Specialist (1 e-learning and 1 online certification)

It results in a dedicated, jointly signed certificate and badge (HSLU and SAS) that is perfectly aligned with the content of this Master’s programme. It gives you the SAS skills, the ECTS credits, and an excellent boost in career chances!

Successful certification can be recognised as an elective module with 6 ECTS in the Master’s programme in International Financial Management. SAS certification is free of charge for our students.

   Analytics School | SAS 
   Important: Part of the SAS Analytics School is a use case session. This has two parts:
   1. Introduction: This takes place during the Analytics School.
   2. Approximately one week later (the dates will be announced in advance), the results will be discussed and presented.
4. Enroll in the SAS Skillbuilder for Students Programme via “Access SAS Skillbuilder for students” with your xxx.xxx.@stud.hslu.ch email address. Find detailed enrolment instruction on ILIAS.

6. Support: If you should have any issues with the environment, do not hesitate to contact the SAS Academics team (learn@sas.com).
7. If you are ready to take the certification exam, send the green Credly Badge(s) of the course to markus.grau@sas.com in order to get a voucher code for the exam.
8. Please find additional information on Visual Analytics, exam preparation and certification on ILIAS.
9. Register for the online certification exam using your voucher code. The registration process is explained in the SAS Skillbuilder Portal and on ILIAS. The exam can be taken from home.
10. After successfully passing the exam, contact the administration at master.ifm@hslu.ch to have the ECTS credits applied towards the electives. Please also contact Markus Grau to claim the SAS Specialisation badge.
