Modules BSc International Sustainable Tourism

The two Onboarding modules in the first and fifth semesters take place in the week before the start of the regular semester in autumn. Students are not required to take any examinations in these modules, but participation is compulsory.

The welcome days “Bienvenido al Estudio” and “Grüezi in Lozärn” prepare students with introductory onboarding sessions at the beginning of their studies in Madrid and Lucerne so that they can understand HSLU's philosophy and values, learn about UN Tourism’s role as the cooperative programme partner and find out about the tools, services and facilities available to them at each location. The incentive is to guide students through the degree programme and help them get started in what for many of them will be a foreign city, country or even continent.

Students will also have time to socialise and get to know each other, as well as their contact persons and representatives. After having gone their separate ways during the second year, a team-building workshop will help the class regain team spirit when meeting again for the third and final year. Participation in the two modules will therefore be worthwhile for students, even without ECTS credits.
