The Foundation Course in Art and Design provides intensive, hands-on experience of artistic techniques and materials so as to foster the development of students’ individual skill sets. It assures time and space for the pursuit of individual passions as well as guidance in the choice of a future degree programme.
Students learn at the very start about our diverse range of modules in the art and design fields, as well as about the skills and working methods each module requires. In our new workshops, labs and studios, they experiment with a variety of materials, learn practical skills and digital techniques, and discover their personal strengths and particular interests. In intensive discussion with their fellow students and lecturers, they explore pioneering solutions to the issues facing society today.
