PROCESSING STUFF – Weaving Design 1 and Knitting Design 1
In each three-week module students acquire a broad repertoire of weaving and knitting techniques. They learn about the principles of binding and types of stitch. Through the deliberate use of a certain material and their design concept they attain specific colour effects. In small groups, students compile the textiles thus produced as sample collections and present them effectively. Students learn how to identify textiles and production processes, keep a glossary of terms on sustainability, and reflect on their working methods. Lecturers: Marion Becella (Weaving Design), Christa Michel (Knitting Design), Susan Curtis, Daniela Zimmermann, Tina Moor, Tina Tomovic, Marco Paniz and guests.
