Bachelor in Digital Ideation A degree at the intersection of design and computer science

Would you like to create digital experiences – not just code or just design? In the Bachelor’s programme in Digital Ideation, you will learn how to turn ideas into digital products: creative, user-centred and hands-on. You will work on projects and specialise in UX, Web & Mobile or Game Design. Ethics and sustainability are part of the programme from day one.

Video Digital Ideation

What you will learn in the Digital Ideation program

Interdisciplinary collaboration:

  • In joint projects, you will work with students from the other subject area from idea to outline, to development and realization. 

Creativity and technology: 

  • You will develop digital applications in project-based studios. Design and technology go hand in hand with a practical orientation in Game Design, UX, and Web and Mobile.

Transdisciplinary modules:

  • Computer scientists and designers take foundational modules together such as Human Computer Interaction and Science and Methods.

Digital culture and responsibility:

  • Adopting a sustainability mindset, you will critically reflect on the current role of technology in society and its impact on the environment. 

Personalized curriculum: 

  • You will have ample opportunity to specialize and shape the course of your program according to your goals and interests.

Professional identity: 

  • You will build your own profile as a web developer, UX designer, game designer, game developer, interaction designer, or as an actor in a new professional field. 

Swap places while studying:

  • You will study in two locations—the Lucerne School of Computer Science and Information Technology in Rotkreuz and the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art in Emmenbrücke—and experience both worlds.

Information Technology Focus

Students with a technical background select the Information Technology Focus where they build advanced skills in programming and mathematics and graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the Lucerne School of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Students with an artistic orientation refine their artistic practice in the field of visual communication and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication from the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art.
