The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is a university of applied sciences that is supported by the six cantons of Central Switzerland. With 7,000 students attending bachelor's and master's degree programmes, almost 4,500 students attending continuing and executive education programmes, and 498 new projects in research and development, it is the largest educational institution in this region, the heart of Switzerland.

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts offers in the order of 300 continuing and executive education programmes based on up-to-the-minute research, and informed by best practice. All the courses are modular and flexible in the way they can be taken, and the University's central sites in Lucerne, Zug and Horw are easily reached.

A place of study: Lucerne and its environs

Lucerne and its environs are more than a study destination. Here in the heart of Switzerland, students benefit from a broad cultural and leisure offer as well as beautiful scenery encompassing mountains and lakes. Moreover, Lucerne is no great distance from other places in Switzerland such as Zurich, Basel or Bern.

This classic beauty connects Lucern’s old and new town: the Kappelbrücke.
Long-standing subject of debate, the KKL Culture and Congress Centre with its protruding roof has become a highly renowned cultural centre.
In Kriens, the various study programmes of the Lucerne School of Music have been united under one roof since autumn 2020.
Mount Pilatus is ubiquitous in Lucerne.
Pigments, binding agents and image carriers - in the Studio for Colours of the Lucerne School of Art and Design, colour can be perceived with all senses.
The Horw campus of the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture is situated between Mount Pilatus and the lake.
A successful combination of timber and concrete: the Rotkreuz campus is home to the School of Computer Science and Information Technology and to the Institute of Financial Services Zug IFZ.
