Does the MFA registration have to be done? Can it be done without?
All students, employees and external persons who wish to access resources of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts must complete the MFA registration.
When is an MFA confirmation required?
An MFA confirmation is always required when a logon to a service of the university takes place outside the network of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Note : For access from outside the university network (e.g. home office), a VPN connection with Pulse Secure is recommended. In this case, only a one-time MFA confirmation is required.
For an external connection without VPN, an MFA confirmation is required each time you log on to a service.
What is required for MFA registration?
The following requirements apply for MFA registration:
Smartphone with internet access and SIM card
Personal email address of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (e.g. firstname.name@stud.hslu.ch)
Knowledge of the personal password
I do not have a user account at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
The following requirements apply for MFA registration without a user account:
Invitation by email for Teams, SharePoint or OneDrive
Possession of an M365 corporate or school account OR Microsoft Live ID (private account)
Smartphone with internet access OR with SIM card or phone line
I do not have a smartphone.
