The HSLU offers a broad range of study programmes and research projects. In its research and teaching, the HSLU is committed to interdisciplinarity, giving students a creative mindset and a holistic approach to problem-solving. There are several time models to choose from. This means that students can tailor their study programme to their specific needs. For instance, bachelor's programmes are available full-time, with a standard duration of six semesters, as well as part-time and as a work-study track, which take longer to complete. 3. Interdisciplinary programmes

The HSLU offers interdisciplinary programmes in partnership with the University of Lucerne and the University of Teacher Education Lucerne, building skills and knowledge across various subject areas. The different modules that constitute the interdisciplinary programmes focus on a host of subjects from culture, business, technology, law and politics to ethics, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and new insights in the process. Certain programmes are specifically dedicated to building cross-disciplinary skills, giving graduates an additional boost when they start a career.

4. Starting a career

Lecturers at the HSLU build knowledge through practice and research and pass it on directly to their students. 5. Central location with international flair

Situated near the railway stations in Lucerne, Horw, Emmenbrücke, Zug and Rotkreuz, all HSLU campuses are easy to reach by public transport. Boasting famous tourist sites like the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument as well as great shops and local markets, the vibrant city of Lucerne is also a great place to live. Beyond the city’s medieval fortifications, between Mount Pilatus and Lake Lucerne, there is magnificent natural scenery to enjoy.
