The module provides insights into German life, culture and politics and also topics about life as a student.
German – language of poets and philosophers.
Students successfully completing the module are capable of understanding and using everyday expressions and simple sentences. Students can make themselves understood if the person they are talking to speaks slowly and clearly and helps them.
The Modul DaF A1 can only be carried out on two meetings (Tuesday and Thursday) if there is a minimum of applicants. If there are not enough applicants the meeting will be on Tuesday.
Takes place during autumn and spring semester. Next start: Spring semester 2019.

The work involved in this module is equivalent to that of a 3 ECTS credit-module. The Schools attended by the students shall decide on the awarding of the 3 credits. The students must check with their respective Schools to find out what their policy is.
The following applies to the School of Engineering and Architecture: students from abroad (incoming students) and students in an English course of studies receive credits. For all other students it is a supplementary module without credits.

Written exam (90 minutes): Active participation with regular attendance in class is expected. Non attendance of the assessed assignment will result in the award of a “1” grade.
Eligibility is extended to all students enrolled in the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Provided places are available, admission (against payment) is also open to staff and external persons.
None. The course is only suitable for beginners without any knowledge of German.
A1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages CEFR.
