Interdisciplinarity constitutes an important element of the Lucerne UASA’s strategic focus. Interdisciplinary research projects in degree and continuing education programmes create ideal conditions to promote future-oriented thinking and to find innovative solutions for professional practice.
Interdisciplinarity is where a project, venture or product is developed by representatives of various disciplines at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (or other higher education institutions if the University does not offer the discipline in question). The methodology used has to be such that the representatives of the disciplines all participate in the project, venture or product from start to finish. The aim is to deliver a practical result through interdisciplinary work across subject areas. The idea that interdisciplinarity increases value is pivotal.
When it comes to interdisciplinarity, the Lucerne UASA is pursuing six medium-term objectives. These objectives involve a number of areas and are formulated as overall aims, which can be divided up and added to as required.
