Biography
Dominik Widmer (*1993) attended the long-term gymnasium in Beromünster and gained the Swiss baccalaureate in 2012 with main focus on physics and applied mathematics.
After his military service, he began his studies in mechanical engineering at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences. In addition to his studies, he also gained experience in mechanical production during the internships at Trumpf Maschinen AG in Baar and at Andritz Hydro AG in Kriens. In his bachelor thesis, Dominik Widmer dealt with the indirect evaporation cooling for the air-conditioning of buildings, which was optimized by mathematical simulations.
Since completing his studies in the summer of 2017, he has been working as a scientific assistant at the competence center for thermal energy systems and process engineering in the Sorption research group. In addition to sorption, the areas of drying processes and evaporative cooling also belong to the daily work.
