Gabriel Barroso graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETH Zürich). After his PhD in chemical kinetic mechanism reduction, multizone and CFD simulation of internal combustion engines he co-founded “Combustion and Flow Solutions” - a CFD engineering company.
He later joined the Sulzer Corporation where he held different positions in research and development and he was Editor-in-Chief of the Sulzer Technical Review. In 2009 he co-founded a company that provides technology recruiting services.
Since 2015 he is senior research fellow at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. His research topics include renewable energies with a focus on reaction mechanisms, 1D- and 3D-CFD modelling of biomass pyrolysis, gasification and combustion and PIV-laser experiments.
Since 2017 he is also associate lecturer for EE + SOL - Renewable Energies - Solar Energy and EE + BIO - Renewable Energies - Bioenergy.
