Marina Santoro is a Sr. Research Associate and is teaching parts of the Business Marketing module at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences - Technik & Architecture since Dec. 2013. In Sep. 2014 she joined the research group “Efficiency of Industrial Processes” (EIP) which is part of the “Swiss Competence Centers for Energy Research” (SCCER). Her research activities focus on the business and strategic drivers/barriers to energy efficiency measures implementation within the Swiss Industry, with particular interest in the development of sectoral-specific strategic and profitable EE programs by identifying and assessing the energy savings measures “multiple benefits”. Marina’s teaching responsibilities focus on the design of customer-driven marketing strategies, development of customer segmentation and value propositions, customer relationship management and sales approaches, with particular interest in the S.P.I.N.® selling approach.
Marina has obtained her M.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1996 at the University of Palermo and has worked in various business and research positions both in industrial and academic contexts. She has started as consumer goods R&D Engineer at the Procter and Gamble (P&G) company with European responsibilities for process development and plant start-up. From 2002 to 2005 Marina joined the ETH Zurich Mechanical and Process Engineering Department as e-learning specialist. Then, she joined Mettler Toledo as industrial marketing manager and consultant with global responsibility for the Pharmaceutical and Chemical markets.
