*1969, Prof. Dipl. Ing. FH/SIA, MBA. Mr Sulzer studied HVAC at the then called Zentralschweizerisches Technikum in Lucerne, Switzerland, and obtained his bachelor degree in 1995. His studies were followed by an employment at the HL-Technik AG in Berlin, Germany, where he worked closely with Prof. Dr. Klaus Daniels as a project manager. He then continued his education at the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney, Australia, where he obtained his Masters in Business Administration (MBA), focus energy economics, in 1999.
In 2003 Matthias Sulzer became the CEO of the Lauber IWISA AG in Naters, Switzerland. He founded the Inretis Holding AG with two business partners in 2005, incorporating the Lauber IWISA AG as well as various other companies in the energy and building technologies sector. Today, the group employs approximately 600 people in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Mr Sulzer has been working as a lecturer for energy and building technologies at the University of Applies Science Lucerne since 2003, and as such has been engaged in various research projects. In 2013, he took on the research topic „Energy Supply for Quarters and Areas“. As part of the action plan „Coordinated Energy Research Switzerland“, he is committed to a sustainable implementation of the federal energy strategy 2050 as the deputy leader of the Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research, Efficiency (SCCER 1).
