The Studio for Contemporary Music at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and its HELIX Ensemble put on an annual series of concerts and courses, in which students from all departments and in all profiles can participate. One of the focuses is on cross-stylistic and inter-disciplinary projects, such as the avant-garde concert series Step Across The Border and partnerships with other art disciplines, such as those at the Lucerne School of Art and Design. Collaborations with the Lucerne Festival Academy, Lucerne Theatre and Lucerne Symphony Orchestra ensure a high level of practical preparation during the course of study.
