The Akademiechor Luzern was founded by Johann Baptist Hilber in 1953. Its members are, first and foremost, musically and vocally talented students of the Lucerne School of Music and qualified singers who are receiving the in receipt of the appropriate training. The ensemble’s repertoire ranges from Palestrina to Penderecki; the make-up of the choir is dependent on the programme and can include anything from chamber formations to formations with symphonic dimensions. The Akademiechor has been led by Ulrike Grosch since 2010.
