Such breaks must be discussed with the Study Coordinator.
In addition, a formal request stating the reason for the absence must be submitted in writing to the Study Coordinator before the end of the previous semester. The student remains enrolled during his or her break. Subject to any other agreement, no tuition fees are payable. Reasons for taking a break can include: maternity/parenthood; accident/illness; military service; special, justified circumstances.
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts recommends that students complete their military service prior to commencing their studies.
Repeat courses can be postponed if a valid reason is given.
