Whether they were visiting the museum of the computer chip giant Intel or participating in stimulating expert discussions at Twitter in San Francisco, the students in the 5th semester of the Business Information Technology bachelor’s degree program can look back on six unique weeks spent in Silicon Valley. This year’s annual exchange between the School of Information Technology and Santa Clara University in the US was planned and supervised by Prof. Philipp Schneider, lecturer in Business Information Technology. All the students successfully implemented a project in collaboration with a company based in Silicon Valley. The aim of the projects was to resolve a company-related problem. The students presented their proposed solutions to the relevant companies and again on November 7, 2017, in Rotkreuz. Students, lecturers, employees and other interested parties were given an insight into the entire stay through a series of short films, photos and project presentations. To round off the event, Philipp Schneider presented the students with the feedback from the different companies in the form of a video message. The feedback was, without exception, very positive: the companies will be more than happy to assign another series of projects to the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – School of Information Technology next year.
The students have posted all the relevant information, reports, pictures and presentations on their «International Campus Experience 2017»
website. Video statements from selected project contractors can be found in the «Insight into the degree program» section.
