Building as a System Degree program, continuing education and research for the built environment

The Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture is the only Swiss university-level institution to research Building as a System. In doing so, it includes aspects of construction, energy and society in order to understand these activities in different areas and districts in a holistic way.

The Competence Centers Center for Integrated Building Technology, iHomeLab, Envelopes and Solar Energy and the research group Power Economy conduct research in self-sufficient lighting systems, building energy management and urban decentralized energy systems within the SCCER Future Energy Efficient Buildings and Districts (FEEBD).

The project „New Opportunities for Decentralized Energy Systems“, a test facility for the thermal network of a simplified district with three consumers, one seasonal storage and one heat source are replicated in the laboratory.
