The «Diversity & Inclusion Forum» is an innovative collaboration between Energy Lab and its WELL initiative, HSLU, and our collective commitment to fostering diversity in the technical fields. Our focus is to empower, connect, and inspire women pursuing careers in technical fields, providing a platform to navigate and excel in these domains. We are dedicated to building a supportive network, encouraging women to explore technical career paths, and guiding those aiming for higher positions within their organisations.
Personal Stories and common themes
This first edition brought together voices from diverse backgrounds, institutions, and nationalities to discuss career development in technical landscapes. The speakers shared their personal stories and life lessons learned along the way. Ideas like «Riding the wave» or «Being the Polar Bear» emphasized the importance of taking risks and following ones dreams, but accepting that life (and career) cannot be planned. However, structural challenges and personal struggles were addressed. The panel discussion concluded that the way forward to a more diverse workplace in research and industry needs effort from both top down and bottom up.
