Internet of Things technology is used to control lighting or shutters with a smartphone or a building to be heated only when people are in it. It helps thanks to targeted information on power consumption to save energy. IoT increases comfort with new operating concepts, such as gestures or via smartphone. It makes buildings more secure, for example, with a fall detection. IoT could also, with the help of a chip in the key ring, automatically open a door or tell where the keyring is.
In retail, products with RFID tags (radio frequency identification tags) could be linked. The tags communicate almost directly with the management system. The system automatically tracks for example, what products are currently in stock or which have left the warehouse. This simplifies warehousing, supply chain or stockpiling at home.
