The RG TEVT has carried out a variety of research projects in the field of heat pump and refrigeration plant technology. They developed for example efficient air-to-water and brine-to-water heat pumps with continuous capacity control as well as desing and planning principles, which are to be used in the development and realization of such systems, for the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (in German “Bundesamt für Energie” or “BFE”).
However, heat pumps and refrigeration systems are not only interesting for the heating and cooling of buildings. They also have a considerable potential to enhance efficiency in household appliances such as tumble dryers, washing machines and dishwashers.
For several years now, renowned manufacturers have been supported in the development of a new generation of household appliances with integrated heat pump technology. Increased energy efficiency under consideration of economical criteria is the primary focus in all of these projects.
The RG TEVT supports companies in the development of efficient heat pumps and refrigeration systems over a large range. The support includes, amongst others, the analysis of existing systems and the dimensioning of new machinery using both simulations and experimental studies in the labrotary.
