Application and possible uses
Integration of Sensors
The Micro Epsilon point laser can carry out complex surface measurement. Programming is done using the familiar KUKA-programming interface. In-process measurements are possible through complete integration. Even measurement of metallic reflective surfaces can be accomplished without problems.

Maching in robotics
The water cooled cutting spindle allows identical machining operations as a 5-axis mill. Not only soft materials like wood or plastics but also aluminum and high-grade steel alloys can be worked. Programming can be done offline or directly through CNC ISO code.

Automated work piece coordinate and origin fixing
The team at the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture integrated an m&h measurement sensor to simplify coordinate frame and origin fixing of work pieces and other objects. We gave special attention to transferring the common standards of CNC machine tools onto the industrial robot. Fast insertion of the spindle is guaranteed by the tool holder HSK F63. Simpler measurement tasks can be accomplished on the work piece.

Geregelte Robot trajectory control using FT-Sensor
The force-torque-sensor enables the capture of the process forces that can directly influence the robot trajectory. A control architecture developed by the CC Mechanical Systems at the Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts – Engineering and Architecture directly incorporates this data in the robot controls (integrated PLC solution). Data exchange between robot and control system happens in real-time with a frequency of 250Hz.
