This course focuses on the basics of wind energy engineering, starting with determination of wind power potentials, applied to different kinds of turbines and systems including selection of materials and components up to the estimation of electrical power production. The ecological aspects will be analyse based on life cycle assessment, stakeholder analysis and environmental impact analysis.
This program allows participants to work in international teams, to share perspectives and to learn about the technical and environmental challenges and opportunities of windpower.
The Winter School starts on Monday, 6 February and lasts until Saturday, 11 Feburary 2023. The academic program itself is framed by social activities.

Fees for participating in the 2023 Lucerne Winter School, payable to Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture according to the terms and conditions:
- CHF 400.00.-: Accommodation (Dorms) incl breakfast for 7 nights and local public transport tickets (10)
- CHF 450.00.-: Tuition – waved for students from partner Universities
Not included are the following cost estimates:
