Nine students of the Master focus project Architecture & Structure were experiencing the Virtual Reality (VR) technology in fall semester 2016.
It is impressive to experience spherical images through VR glasses. A convincing way to use this technology is to build a model of an architectural space, then put a spherical camera inside the model and use your smartphone for remote shooting. Next display the image in VR stereoscopic view mode on the smartphone, put the smartphone in VR glasses and experience the space of the model as virtual reality at 1:1 scale. The exhibition shows the designs of nine students for a new stadium for the Bohemian Football Club in Dublin with the technology of VR. In spring 2017 the exhibition was taking place in the Chocolate Factory in Dublin. Finally, the exhibition is back in Horw, Lucerne and is open to the public from November 23rd until December 14th. Emmett Scanlon, Professor in Architecture at University College Dublin (UCD), will give a lecture on the closing date on December 14th. You are warmly invited!
