One of the programme points was a visit to the iHomeLab. Clemens Nieke, a scientist at the iHomeLab, introduced the 40 or so curious young people to the fascinating world of intelligent building technology.
Together with James, the iHomeLab's virtual butler, he showed the young visitors what can happen when scientists explore new topics.
The children experienced that a building can protect itself against intruders, that it can help to save energy or support older people so that they can live independently at home for longer.
The fascination that the iHomeLab exerts on its visitors could be read on the faces of the hopefully future engineers.
