Hydraulics and Pneumatics  Fluidic systems for innovative drive technology

The CC Mechanical Systems develops compact, reliable and energy-efficient drive systems by combining hydraulics and pneumatics with mechanics, sensing and electronics.

Today’s standard hydraulics still have the potential for large energy-savings, if the following points are considered during implementation:

  1. Demand-adjusted energy generation through variable pump control
  2. Avoidance of restrictor losses through the implementation of displacement bodies
  3. Regeneration and efficient energy storage using hydraulic accumulators.

Development focus in hydraulics and pneumatics

The focus points of developmental work at the CC MS in the field of fluidic drive technology are in the:

  • development of compact fluidic drive systems
  • microhydraulic and micropneumatic actuation systems
  • development and construction of mechatronical systems
  • optimization of existing designs
  • sizing of hydraulic and servohydraulic drives
  • tests of components and systems 
  • specific technical consulting in development projects
  • schooling and professional development courses in hydraulics and pneumatics

The optimal interplay of various technologies results in innovative drive systems that are compact, reliable and at the same time energy-efficient. Their high power density and excellent controllability as well as unsurpassed dynamic response make fluidic drives an important component of these systems.
