Who doesn’t enjoy a cold beer after work in good company? Beer lovers in Switzerland can enjoy a wide variety of beers with different flavors and colors, brewed by locally based breweries. The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and Unser Bier from the canton of Basel have collaborated to create an extraordinary beer. The yeast used in the brewing process was launched into space in May 2026 on a wild rocket flight from Kiruna, Sweden, reaching an altitude of over 260 km. In keeping with the theme, the beer is enhanced with fruity Galaxy hops.
“Space Beer” has been available for purchase as a limited edition since August 20, 2026. Proceeds from Space Beer will benefit research on weightlessness at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Enjoy a cool sip of weightlessness from the infinite vastness of space!
